I’ve been blocked on Twitter before. It happens.

Sometimes I just want to know if someone muted me, blocked me, or deleted their account.

Twitter does not send alerts when someone blocks you.

So I had to figure it out on my own.

Here’s how I check who blocked me on Twitter.

I use simple manual checks first. Then I use tools if needed.

First, I Check Manually on Twitter

This is the fastest way. It’s free. No tools needed.

I Search for the Username

I type the username directly into Twitter search.

  • If the profile shows up normally, I’m not blocked
  • If it says “This account doesn’t exist,” that’s suspicious

To be sure, I log out or open an incognito window and search again.

  • If I can see the profile while logged out, I know I’m blocked
  • If I still can’t see it, the account may be deleted or suspended

This method works most of the time.

I Try to Visit the Profile Link

I type the profile URL directly, like this:

x.com/username

If I’m blocked, I see a clear message saying I can’t view the profile. Twitter doesn’t hide this very well.

I Check Old Replies or Mentions

If I remember replying to that person before, I check the old thread.

  • If their name is gone
  • Or shows as “@username” with no profile

That’s another strong sign I was blocked.

Twitter Lists (Free Trick)

This is a small trick I use.

I try adding the person to a private list.

  • If Twitter blocks the action, I’m blocked
  • If it works, I’m not blocked

This method still works in many cases.

What I Keep in Mind

There’s no 100 percent accurate way to see who blocked me.

Twitter limits this on purpose.

Tools rely on signals, not official data. So I always double-check manually.

If someone blocked me, I move on. It’s usually not personal.

That’s it. Simple steps. Clear answers. No guessing more than needed.
